Forty-one fish farmers in a rural village of Sambio of Bulolo District in Papua New Guinea were proud recepients of a two-week training in Small Business Development Corporation funded by the Morobe Mining Joint Venture through its Hidden Valley Mine.

Senior officers of MMJV and leaders in the area encouraged participants to strengthen partnerships and make use of the training opportunities to participant in their own development.

This part of PNG is currently seeing alot of mining activities especially in minerals like gold, copper and other minerals while these tend to overlap other sustainable and renewable resources.

One very key area is human resource and provided the skills and knowledge to do so.

Individual local level government areas are also working on their five-year plans that will enable better planning and opportunity

for further funding through government agencies from small to medium enterprises.

Other developments taking place in the area include water supply projects, staff houses and a footbridge in this part of Papua New Guinea.
